Rithvik - In pursuit of the unknown

Hello, everyone! It’s me, Rithvik! Today, I’m back again with my 5th blog post.

I’ve been making significant progress in my project with the help of my 3M mentor. I’d like to use this blog as a way to reflect upon my incredible summer mentorship experience.

I vividly remember how anxious I felt before my first phone call with my 3M mentor. I was unsure about how it was going to go, but as soon as I started talking about my project and brainstorming ideas, the anxiety vanished. I was able to instantly connect with my mentor and see how a real scientist is able to approach tough hurdles scientifically.

The most challenging part of my project is to stay focused and gain a solid informational backbone. Research is vital for accurate experimentation and my project is no exception. I had to spend a good portion of the summer mentorship researching existing literature for several ideas and discussing them further with my mentor. Another thing I had to be aware of was to stay away from assumptions and any observational bias. To perform my experiment with higher accuracy, I needed to base my results strictly on results and science.

Interacting with my 3M mentor and gaining access to incredible 3M technologies have been highlights of my experience. With the help of my 3M mentor, I was also able to gain access to other 3M specialists, who also helped expand my project significantly.

Thanks for reading and watching, and always remember:
