Patti Duncan is a manager with the Discovery Education Instructional Implementation Team. After working for ten years as a food chemist, Patti made the switch to education in 1997. She taught middle school and high school science for twelve years, most recently in Hawley PA. During that time she continuously strived to keep her classroom innovative and engaging. She has spent the past twelve years presenting at workshops and institutes for fellow educators on a variety of subjects on the local, state and national level. She has also hosted workshops for both Wilkes University and Rutgers University. Sharing what she knows about science, technology and STEM education has become a passion, as well as a career.

Meet John Henderson. As a senior product development engineer in 3M’s Automotive Aftermarket Division (AAD), he works to enhance the collision repair process through the development of paint-related products like cups and spray guns. He creates products that reduce the time workers spend cleaning equipment with solvent and the amount of materials wasted per repair, as well as those that help body shops to deliver a shiny, like-new vehicle back to the customer as quickly as possible.

As senior product development engineer in 3M’s Stationery and Office Supplies Division, her work focuses on developing new-to-the-world Post-it® Note products designed to help consumers turn their thoughts into actions and ideas into reality.
