Mr. Barnes has served on many state committees in the review and refinement of content standards and various state science organizations, and is the current Vice President of Virginia Association of Science Teachers.

Meet Mr. Barnes. Julian Barnes is the Science Coordinator of Roanoke County Public Schools in Roanoke, Virginia. Roanoke County is the largest school district in the region with 26 schools.

In his current role, he has been involved with a multi-year Learn and Serve Grant, served on the application committee for the Governor's STEM academy, and aided in a joint effort between the Virginia Department of Education and Virginia Science Education Leadership Association in the education of new science standards.
