Dear fellow scientists,

The Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge has been a life changing experience for me.  It has opened my eyes to how big the world really is.

Working with my mentor Dr. Muhfuza Ali has been an incredibly valuable experience.  In addition to her knowledge and advice, she has been kind enough to introduce me to several other scientists at 3M with specific expertise to help me with my project.  Over the summer I learned about the scientific process in more detail and the importance of perseverance.

When I am in New York City I think about all the complexities and diversity around me.  I think about how the world is all connected and how technology and innovation will fuel the future.  I wonder about ways we can improve things to build a better tomorrow.

I hope you will enter your amazing ideas in next year’s challenge.  The Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge provides a path for you to turn your ideas into something greater.  The opportunity to work with prestigious scientists will help you explore how your idea can become a reality.  It has been a great experience to connect with the people at Discovery Education and 3M.  I hope you will join me on October 17th at 3PM (ET) for the Young Scientist Challenge Final Event broadcast live.

I am excited to visit the 3M Innovation Center in Minnesota and to meet everyone!  Please see my video blog below.
