Simone - So close, yet so far away
Hello again! Its crazy to think this is almost my last post! You know what they say, time flies when you're experimenting with umbrellas and mouse traps!
It's time for some of my deep insights and wisdom. The most challenging part for me has been figuring out how to prioritize my time and balancing school work, extracurriculars and my science project. Its hard trying to do so many different activities, but I realized at the end of the day that I couldn't do it all, and I had to put all of my energy into my top few priorities. This experience has been as much about the process of learning how to do a big project as it is about the actual results for me. Sometimes when I got overwhelmed by all the work still to be done, I'd talk to my 3M mentor. It's important to have someone to bounce ideas off of, so you always keep moving forward, even if you feel stuck.
The best part of the process for me was when I saw my first, most primitive prototype working how I envisioned it in my head. That moment for me was when I knew I was on the right track, and I committed to my idea.
These next couple of weeks are going to take a lot of work to finish my prototype and work on my presentation, but I'm excited for the challenge, and most importantly St.Paul!
