Hannah - I Hope You're Next!

Hello, Fellow Scientists!

Wow, I can’t believe that the 2015 Discovery Education and 3M Young Scientist Challenge is coming to an end. I’ve had a fantastic journey! The end of the competition comes with mixed emotions, as I’m really excited for the final event, but I’m also sad that my time working with my mentor is coming to an end.

My favorite part about the YSC this summer has definitely been working with my 3M Mentor, Mr. Emslander. Developing my prototypes and building my innovation has been more productive and more fun with his guidance. We’ve had a great time, and I can’t wait to meet him in person!

Waiting for the final event is really exciting, since I know that no matter what, I’m going to have a great time at the 3M Innovation Center by learning new things and meeting new people, and especially revealing my innovation to show you all what I’ve come up with.

Well, this is my last blog post for the Young Scientist Challenge of 2015. I’d like to thank everyone who has helped and guided me along the way, and I can’t wait to meet you on October 11th!

If you're reading this blog post and are in middle school, I hope that you will apply for the 2016 Discovery Education and 3M Young Scientist Challenge. It is such an amazing opportunity to explore, innovate, and work with a scientist from 3M to develop your prototype. I hope to see YOU posting blogs next year!

A final quote: “Well, if it can be thought, it can be done; a problem can be overcome.” –E.A. Bucchineri

Again, I hope that you all will tune into the live stream on October 13th to see us present our innovations.

Thank you for reading my final blog post… See you soon!

Signing off,
