Meet Samyak. Samyak designed a sensor-based system to track hand hygiene compliance in hospitals to reduce the fatality rate associated with nosocomial infections.
Why did you enter the Young Scientist Challenge?
I love science. I felt this is the best opportunity to present my project for reducing rates of Nosocomial Infections and raising social awareness worldwide. I also entered the challenge hoping to be able to work with a 3M mentor and take my project to the next level!
What is your favorite invention of the last 100 years, and why?
My favorite invention for the last 100 years is undoubtedly Internet. I can’t imagine how peoples’ life without internet was. This invention give me access to search engines like google/yahoo and learn concepts whenever and wherever I am struck. Thanks to this invention I can get instant access to global news, information and get in touch with my friends and family across the world.
In 15 years I hope to be...
an innovator who can solve world's tough problems and make the world a better place to live.
